Feel the Pain!

He who conceals an offense promotes love, but he who harps on it can separate even close friends. Proverbs 17:9

It is very easy to be offended. A person draws up boundary lines in life to protect themselves from pain and trouble. When someone crosses the boundary line there is an offense.

The temptation is to make the one who has crossed your line feel the same pain they have caused you. To do this we like to hold the offense over their head. We like to harp on it for a while to make sure that they get the point. In a way you will feel better if they suffer too.

However we are commanded to forgive others when they trespass against us. We are to overlook the offense. By doing so we show love and compassion.

May we be quick to forgive an offense. May we not harp on it but move on quickly. #timetochange #lifeundertheson
