Do not be Deceived!

Do not just listen to the word of God and deceive yourselves. Do what it tells you to do. James 1:22

The time has come for people to follow Christ or follow the ways of this world. You may see yourself on one side or the other. If you see yourself on the side of God, James is wanting to make sure that you are not deceived. Deceived meaning you think you are with the Lord but you really are not. The deception comes from hearing the word and finding comfort in it. You understand what the word is saying and you agree intellectually. James is saying the deception comes when you intellectually agree with the word but you are not actually doing what it says. We must meditate on the word day and night and apply the instructions to our lives everyday. By applying the word to your life everyday you will look less like you and more like Christ.
