The New Self

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Colossians 3:5-10

When we submit our lives to Christ there is a super natural transition. The things that had power over us begin to fall away. When we choose to turn from living in sin the Lord anoints that choice with power to walk it out. God gives us power to take off the old self with its sinful practices and to put on the new self. Our new self is being renewed in knowledge in the image of our Creator. God is shaping us into the image of his Son. Hallelujah!! If you find yourself struggling there is still hope. Confess your wrongdoing and turn from sin to Christ. Make a choice to do the next best thing. Make one good choice at a time. The Lord will sustain you and give you power to overcome the schemes of the Evil one. You are created to do this. You are created to be like Christ Jesus! #timetochange #lifeundertheson
